As of 2017, eight Nobel laureates, 71 Rhodes scholars, 65 Olympians, eight Fellows in both American Academy of Arts & Sciences and the Royal Society, and 208 Fellows to the Royal Society of Canada have been affiliated with UBC. Three Canadian prime ministers, including Canada's first female prime minister Kim Campbell and current prime minister Justin Trudeau have been educated at UBC.
In order to establish a platform where outstanding Chinese students can collide with minds from top universities in the world, in the springtime of 2019, USIEA has built a collaboration with University of British Columbia. Qualified students will be selected from universities across China by USIEA to go study in UBC. Students will receive a certificate from UBC, and even will have an opportunity to gain a recommendation letter from professors as a bonus to their further studies application. Students will also be able to expand their connections, open their minds and make the right decisions about their future.

Full-time bachelors or masters students with good academic results and characters.
Students need to have basic English skills and will need to take a placement test after being admitted into the program.
Students need to pass USIEA’s interview and UBC’s academic check.
What courses will be provided?
two categories
English Academic Program – aiming at improving academic reading, writing, speaking and listening. A comprehensive language skill course.
Students will study in the classroom in the mornings and go on field trips in the afternoons. The theme is different every week, and students will have opportunities to go visit communities and be more interactive.
Can students live in the dormitories on campus?
USIEA will organize host families for all the students throughout the program. Students will have the opportunity to interact with local residents and gain a better understanding of Canadian culture and traditions.

2020 English Language and Culture Course

Students need to have basic English skills and will need to take a placement test after being admitted into the program.

What courses will be provided?
Students will study 4 full days from Mondays through to Thursdays and only half a day on Fridays. Usually students will have comprehensive English skill courses in the morning and seminars in the afternoon. Students will need to choose a topic to do research on and present and will go their presentation on Thursday afternoon. Topics include cross-cultural communication, Canadian society, politics and current affairs, climate change, media and technology, careers, global citizen, etc. Every Friday morning, there will be themed seminars and discussions.
