    UC Davis Extension offers academic programs that include intensive short-term English programs, full-immersion academic programs for visiting international students from select partner universities.

    Program Dates and Courses
     

    Intensive English (September 25th – December 6th, 2019)

    This 10-week program is offered year-round—in fall, winter, spring and summer quarters—and includes a total of 200 hours of instruction at eight different levels of proficiency. It is ideal for those wanting to learn English for academic, professional or social purposes.

     

    English for Science and Technology: (July 5th – August 2/August 9th – September 6th, 2019)

    International students who would like to use English more confidently in the fields of science and technology are suitable for this intensive, four-week program. They improve their overall English language skills and develop professional skills - such as critical thinking, oral presentation and intercultural communication.

    Admission Requirements:

    International undergraduate and graduate students majoring in science, engineering and/or technology

     

    English for Global Business: (July 5th – August 2/August 9th – September 6th, 2019)

    The English for Global Business Program is designed to help participants improve their knowledge of global business as well as their English proficiency. Students who major in business-related fields or who wish to improve their English proficiency within business contexts, are suitable for this course.

     

    Communication and Culture: (Jan. 4- Feb. 1 or Feb. 8- Mar. 8, 2019)

    The Communication and Culture Program (CCP) is a comprehensive four-week program with four hours of instruction each day. Students of all English levels who want an intensive learning experience within a short time frame, are suitable for this course.

     
    Accommodation
    UCR provides comfortable homestay experience. With a homestay arrangement, students will live with a local family and experience an American family lifestyle.
